At Hargan Ventures, our backgrounds are diverse, spanning a number of industries and corporate functions. A common thread among us, however, is a passion for entrepreneurship. We understand first-hand the challenges facing business founders. We've personally been through the ups and downs of building a successful new venture and we continually rely on these experiences when working to create value for our partner companies.

Sam Ifergan, B.Eng, MBA
Sam has over 15 years of entrepreneurial, technology and venture capital experience. As the leader of Hargan's investment team he is involved in overseeing allocation of the firm's funds under management, evaluating new investment prospects, structuring transactions and leading the firm's governance efforts with respect to portfolio companies.
Sam has been extensively involved in the day-to-day business of all of Hargan's investments, often serving as CEO or other senior executive, particularly in the early stages of each company's development. Prior to founding Hargan Ventures, he was a strategy consultant with Mercer Management Consulting where he was involved in a number of industries and advised Fortune 500 companies on corporate strategy. Sam has also held general management and technical development roles at NCR, where he led the deployment of enterprise-grade information technology systems.
Sam holds a Bachelor of Engineering from McGill University and an MBA from the John Molson School of Business at Concordia University. Sam currently sits on the board of VisualSonics and is the Chairman of the Board of Brighter Minds.
Michael Aron, CA
Michael has over 20 years of experience in corporate finance, banking and entrepreneurship. He is a Co-Founder and Director of Cidel Bank & Trust, an international private bank. Prior to founding Cidel, Michael was a Senior Executive at Bayshore Bank and a Senior Manager at KPMG Peat Marwick's financial advisory practice.
Harry Hart
Harry has over 40 years of entrepreneurial and technology experience. As a key member of the Hargan team, Harry is involved in the firm's fund-raising efforts, approving allocation of the firm's capital and governance efforts with respect to portfolio companies.
Harry is one of Canada's most successful retailing entrepreneurs. He is the Founder and CEO of Hartco Income Fund (TSX:HCI.UN), Canada's leading franchisor of system integrators and technology resellers. Harry is also Founder of Hart Stores Inc. (TSX:HIS) a chain of 74 retail stores in Quebec, Ontario and the Maritimes. Hartco and Hart Stores are both listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange and generate combined annual revenues of over $750 million.
Harry has won numerous awards for his contribution to Canadian business and was named as one of Canada's top 100 CEOs by Report on Business Magazine. Harry is a co-founder of Hargan Ventures. He is Chairman of the Board of Hartco Income Fund and Hart Stores, and sits on the board of Brighter Minds.
Leslie Nochomovitz, CA
Leslie has over 30 years experience in venture capital and public accounting. As a key member of Hargan's team he manages the financial aspects of Hargan's investment funds and is often involved in the management of capital in Hargan's portfolio companies.
Prior to joining Hargan Ventures, Leslie was part of the investments team of an early-stage Canadian venture capital firm. Leslie also spent many years as a Client Service Partner with Grant Thornton, a leading Canadian firm of chartered accountants and business consultants focused on the entrepreneurial market. Over the course of his career he has led numerous audit and compliance, corporate finance, due diligence reviews, fund raising and tax planning projects across various industries.

Peter Friedmann
Peter is the Chairman of FGC Holdings Inc., a business ventures company based in Toronto. He started his career at Procter & Gamble, where he built a successful career over the course of 16 years with the company. In 1980, he was appointed to the Management Committee of Procter & Gamble. During the 1990s, he was Chairman of one of the largest industrial groups in the Czech Republic with holdings in the retail, drug and food and rubber product industries. He was involved in one of the largest steel mills in Central Europe, which was acquired by US Steel in 2000. Peter was a partner in the development of one of the world's largest confectionary retail chains, Sweet Factory. Throughout his career, he has been involved in various real estate projects in Canada, the US and Europe.
Peter holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Western Ontario. He is the Chairman of Steelman Software Solutions and sits on the board of Teltronics and Brighter Minds.
